The annual ISBER conference was held at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown in Phoenix Arizona in May this year. The meeting brings together biorepository operators, scientists, consultants and vendors in the only global forum which covers a broad range of biorepository-related issues and collection types. Topics discussed this year at the meeting included Return of Incidental Findings, Dynamic Consent, Trends in Biobanking Informatics and Biobanking Sustainability.
The meeting was attended by SA node coordinator, Ms Pam Saunders, who represented the APCB at the meeting’s poster session (click here for presented poster). Ms Saunders stated that the meeting was ‘a perfect forum for dissemination of ideas amongst new and old colleagues, the ability to access the latest related trends in software and hardware and return to our work places with the latest knowledge to optimise our procedures and protocols.’ The next ISBER meeting will be held in April 2016 in Berlin, Germany. The APCB hopes to attend this meeting next year.
